\"trumphorse\"What is this new nationalism?\u00a0 What is nationalism?\u00a0 Wiki states<\/a> that “Nationalism<\/b> is a shared group feeling in the significance of a geographical and sometimes demographic region seeking independence for its culture or ethnicity that holds that group together.”\u00a0 Michael Savage might define it as a cause and call for the preservation of our nation’s borders, language, and culture.<\/a>\u00a0 Currently, Donald Trump is running under this flag of nationalism; which Mark Levin calls<\/a>\u00a0a nationalist\/populist<\/a> progressive movement.\u00a0 All aboard!\u00a0 The nationalist Trump train is making it’s mad dash to the White House and many are heeding the call. \u00a0However, not all<\/em> are\u00a0getting aboard.\u00a0\u00a0Truth<\/a> circumspectly warns\u00a0“wide is<\/i> the gate, and broad is<\/i> the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.”\u00a0 Endorsement does not come without rejection.\u00a0 What is the opportunity cost<\/span><\/u><\/a> of this new nationalism?\u00a0 The first expense was Lion Ted’s head on a platter. \u00a0In 1979, video killed the radio star, but in this 2016 presidential cycle, nationalism killed the conservative star.\u00a0 Trumpmania may very well win the Republican nomination and even win the Presidency for the Republican Party, but as Elizabeth Bennet<\/a> rejected her sister’s offer to match-make, so must the prudent Republican answer, “I thank you for my share of the favour, but I do not particularly like your way of getting husbands.”<\/p>\n

What kind of nationalism is on the march?\u00a0 Oh dear!\u00a0 There’s more than one?\u00a0 Sure there is;\u00a0the most popular being the socialist type.\u00a0 The Nationalist Socialist Party of Germany<\/a> is by far the most accomplished of them all.\u00a0 Perhaps, it’s the communist flavor<\/a> of nationalism that Mao Zedong sold.\u00a0 Them Chinese were very patriotic.<\/p>\n

There’s no need though to look outside America’s borders to find a selection of nationalism.\u00a0 Is it similar to Teddy’s New Nationalism<\/a>, the one that gave us those\u00a0wonderful New Deal programs like Social Security?\u00a0 Ooh, that one really worked!\u00a0 How about that sweet 16th\u00a0Amendment<\/a> that Teddy got for\u00a0the “good” of the nation?<\/p>\n

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s nationalism for you. \u00a0I don’t think it means what you think it means? \u00a0I think nationalism<\/em> is Latin for federal withholding<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Or is it like the nationalism that the Populist Party<\/a> of the 1980s boasted?\u00a0 KKK Grand Wizard, David Duke, was their presidential nominee.<\/p>\n

The point is that nationalism can take many forms.\u00a0 In defense of nationalism,\u00a0the American Revolution was a\u00a0nationalistic movement.\u00a0 Indeed, our founding father’s\u00a0nationalism is the kind we most desperately need, but that is not necessarily the kind we’re getting.\u00a0 What is this new nationalism?\u00a0 What’s in this nationalist Trojan horse<\/a> that’s entering our city?<\/p>\n

“It’s time to abandon conservatism as the defining principle of our movement.” <\/em><\/span>~Savage<\/em><\/span><\/h1>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Michael Savage claims his book, Government Zero<\/a>, is Donald Trump’s playbook.\u00a0 Savage has stated on his radio program several times that he is responsible for the rise of Donald Trump.\u00a0 Savage states, in the chapter entitled\u00a0Saving a Nation with Nationalism<\/em>, “It’s time to abandon conservatism as the defining principle of our movement.”\u00a0 He explains how the meaning of conservatism<\/em> is so confusticated that instead nationalism<\/em>, an “America first” philosophy, is a better principle to restore our nation.\u00a0\u00a0Savage\u00a0does not advocate abandoning conservatism in a classical sense of it’s meaning, but rather abandoning the watered-down perversions of conservatism that have permeated the Republican party.\u00a0\u00a0He states that “True conservatives were also nationalists.”\u00a0 What Savage does not address, however, is that not all true nationalists are conservatives.\u00a0 Therein lies the folly of the rise of Donald Trump.\u00a0 In the case of Savage, Rush, and Hannity, sometimes a person wants to see something or someone come about so intensely and so passionately, that they’ll believe any mirage that comes\u00a0upon the horizon.<\/p>\n
