Matthew 5:6\u00a0 Blessed are<\/i> they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On this matter of being filled with the Holy Ghost, we must\u00a0believe it’s God’s will that every saved person<\/strong> be filled with the Holy Ghost (Eph 5:17,18).\u00a0 For the early church,\u00a0the fullness of\u00a0the Spirit was normal.\u00a0 It was expected and anticipated.\u00a0 It was the only way to live for God.\u00a0 In these days, it’s a legend and\u00a0a lost doctrine.\u00a0 Be not ignorant, like the disciples in Ephesus, saying “We have not so much heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.” (Acts 19:2).<\/p>\n

Mary<\/strong>, when she conceived the Christ child,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:35).\u00a0 Elizabeth<\/strong>, when the babe leaped in her womb,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:41).\u00a0 Zacharias<\/strong>, when his tongue was loosed and he praised\u00a0God,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:67).\u00a0 John the Baptist<\/strong>, from his mother’s womb,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:15).\u00a0 Simeon<\/strong>, who he took Jesus up in his arms,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 2:25).\u00a0 The disciples<\/strong>, while waiting\u00a0in the upper room, were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4).\u00a0 Peter<\/strong>, as he stood to preach,\u00a0was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 4:8).\u00a0 The disciples<\/strong>, when their prayer shook the place where they were assembled, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 4:31).\u00a0 Those seven men<\/strong> of honest report, chosen to serve God’s people, were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 6:3).\u00a0 Stephen<\/strong>, as he saw the glory of God, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 7:55).\u00a0 The believers<\/strong> in Samaria, who with one accord gave heed, had great joy, and were baptized, were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:17).\u00a0 Phillip<\/strong>, who preached Jesus to the Ethiopian, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:29,39).\u00a0 Ananias<\/strong>, who was sent to Saul by a vision, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:17).\u00a0 Paul<\/strong>, who asked, “Lord what will thou have me to do?”, was filled with Holy Ghost (Acts 9:17).\u00a0 Cornelius<\/strong>, who’s prayers and alms were remembered of God, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 10:44).\u00a0 Barnabas<\/strong>, who won much people unto the Lord, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 11:24).\u00a0 Paul<\/strong>, on the isle of Paphos, was again filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 13:9).\u00a0 Paul and Barnabas<\/strong>, expelled from Antioch, were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 13:52)\u00a0 Apollos<\/strong>, who helped believers much, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 18:26).\u00a0 Certain disciples<\/strong> in Ephesus, who had only received John’s baptism, were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 19:6).\u00a0 And last but most definitely not the least, Jesus<\/strong> the Savior, was filled with the sweet Holy Spirit of God (Luke 4:1).<\/p>\n

There’s no question that all these people of God had this one thing in common:\u00a0they hungered and thirsted after the righteousness of God.\u00a0 Can we say what the Psalmist said? “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.\u00a0 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God…”\u00a0 (Psalm 42:1,2)\u00a0 What is it going to take for the inner man, the soul, to thirst and yearn for God?\u00a0 O Lord, revive us again.<\/p>\n
