Every time the Bible mentions (excuse me) vomiting, SIN is the catalyst involved, the reason behind that repulsive act!
In Revelation 3:16 God is going to “spue” a backslidden Church out of His Mouth, because of sin!
In Leviticus 18:28 Israel was about to “be spued” our of her very Homeland, again because of sin!
Then that replusive dog … a pictue of filth anyway … “which returneth to his vomit!”
YES, SIN … THE MOST SICKENING THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD … TO ALMIGHTY GOD ANYWAY.

“Whether one is helped by going to church depends not so much on the church or the preacher but upon himself.” When the Heart is Hungry, Charles L. Allen, Chapter 10 The Four People who go to Church, The Parable of the Four Soils
“On some week nights be prepared to pray as long as the Holy Spirit keeps you on your knees. Sometimes I have know that we missed a blessing from the Lord because some had not made preparation beforehand to remain longer” Opened Windows, James Alexander Stewart
Here’s a verse to use about dressing up for church:
Leviticus 6:11 And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
God like half-and-half:
Leviticus 6:20 This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning, and half thereof at night.
I wonder if this is a hint as to Jesus resurrection on the third day?
Leviticus 7:17 But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.
What an amazing pictures of a worship service! Shouting and falling on their faces! How much of that do we do in our services. Does God ever show up to our altars?
Leviticus 9:23,24 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people. And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
No strong drink. It’s not holy.
Leviticus 10:9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
What exactly happened in this passage? Apparently, the goat of the sin-offering had been burnt when it should have been eaten. (Good joke about burning the biscuits could fit here) However, Aaron seemed to have a good excuse because Moses was contented, and we hear nothing more about it.
And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying, Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD? Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded. And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD? And when Moses heard that, he was content. (Leviticus 10:16-20)
The leper is the picture of the lost man, plagued in sin. What sticks out in the verse is “he shall dwell alone.” The loneliness of the sinner. The drunkard alone with his liquor. He’s got a place to go and people to meet; people to party with him and socialize, but inside a lonely soul. Even in the church house, a lonely church member, surrounded by people, by prestige, by programs, but deep inside, a lonely lost soul that dwells alone without the presence and power of a loving God. Psalm 28:8, David says, “LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.” But without the camp shall be the habitation of the sinner. A great gulf separates the two habitations.
And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be. (Leviticus 13:45,46)
What is Fretting? This speaks of a malignancy.
He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire. (Leviticus 13:52)
And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without. (Leviticus 13:55)
Verse 15:24 Flowers?
Verse 15:35 Sick of her flowers?
Can’t help but think of Jesus and Barabas. Jesus was left while Barabas got away.
And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. (Leviticus 16:9,10)
Altar fire
And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail: (Leviticus 16:12)
It’s between you and God. One man at a time.
Or, for by one man sin entered into the world… by one man was sin taken away… A picutre of Christ, the second Adam
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel. (Letviticus 16:17)
Should we not eat blood today?
And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood thatmaketh an atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:10,11)
Walking after the flesh? Condemnation for this, Romans 8:1
After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. (Leviticus 18:3)
Walking after the Spirit?
Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 18:4)
Gleanings?
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:9,10)
The ground is level at the cross
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. (Leviticus 19:15)
Study to be quiet
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:16)
Leviticus 20 concerns the law of immorality. It’s as if God in one chapter has corrected all the immorality of Genesis and Exodus. We read all that wondering if God was okay with it. Why did God let people get away with that stuff? Well he didn’t.
